Studio 50 Design and Gormley Designs analyzed an existing 6,500 SF waterfront residence, with various mismatched additions. The objective was to transform this residence into an inviting home with a traditional vernacular. Water views from all of the main spaces were enhanced and celebrated. Due to the development restrictions of the site, our proposed design incorporated maintaining the existing foundations, re-skinning the existing structure, and providing a second-story with functional spaces.
The project is a two-story addition to a 1910 Eastport row home, which included a solarium on the first floor and a master-bath addition on the second floor. The home owner was a landscape architect who wanted to build a solarium for his personal plant collection.
This project was a schematic design study that involved the transformation of an existing 3 bedroom home, the addition provided a master bedroom suite, including a master bathroom and closet.
Studio 50 Design was retained to provide architectural design services for the renovation and upgrade of a four unit, 1850's apartment building. We interacted with the Annapolis City Historical Preservation Commission to ensure project approval.
The renovations included HVAC, electrical and communications improvements, as well as modern amenities in regards to plan layouts, appliances, programmable thermostats, and internet services.
