Janet Kristine (Kris) Wilson
AIA, Principal
Driven by her entrepreneurial spirit, Ms. Wilson started Studio 50 in 2006, after gaining substantial experience working for other local firms, such as Design Collective (Baltimore, 2000 – 2005), RTKL (Baltimore, 1997 – 2000), CHK (Silver Spring, 1995 – 1997), Paul J. Gorman (1993 – 1995), and Brian Swanson (1992 – 1993). This early work provided exposure to a wide range of projects and management styles, giving her a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of any architectural endeavor. More importantly, it honed in the importance of team leadership, timely communications, and outstanding customer service – the pillars of Studio 50’s operations.
Currently, Ms. Wilson specializes in commercial retail and adaptive re-use projects, as well as building code analysis and zoning compliance. Her capabilities include Autodesk Revit Architecture (BIM – Building Information Modeling), Autodesk Architecture (AutoCAD), and SketchUp.
She has also participated in the Baltimore Local Contractor Development Program teaching minority subcontractors.
Ms. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Masters of Architecture from the University of Maryland.
